The nations will get ‘stones of fire’ – more comments from the Rav

Following the recent discussion here about the ‘barad’, these comments from the Rav took my eye.

You can read the post about barad HERE.

Also, I didn’t how to translate “avnei algabish”, referred to below. Check the footnotes for what AI told me about it… super interesting.

Enjoy!

Excerpt of a shiur given on 1st of Nissan, 5786.

There’s the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

It’s still being distributed even today, that the Jews want to murder everyone, that the Jews want to kill everyone.

H-tler said that he was ‘relying’ on the Protocols, that the Jews wanted to murder everyone. Now, we are seeing murder in Iran, each day, they publicise another 10 leaders. 10 leaders, 10 elders, 10 commanders, every day.

Mamash, my heart hurts to see this. I can’t see it, that they are killing so very many commanders. Good people, davka.[1]Like Haman and his ten sons…

[Skipping a bunch].

It’s written here, in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, that the Jews want to conquer the world.

So be careful!!! We need to annihilate them!

That’s what [the Protocols] say, and up until today, still, they aren’t stopping to distribute it, in all the languages.

The non-Jews believe it, and so everyone wants to annihilate us.

But Shuvu Banim is not going to let them do that.

Shuvu Banim is going to proceed, and stand on the borders, and we are going to cry out to Hashem.

[And then], the avnei algabish (stones of algabish (?)) will fall, the stones of sulphur and fire.

Sulfur and fire (i.e. the gematria of gofrit and esh) is exactly 1,000.

“HaElef lach, Shlomoh” is gofrit and esh.

Now, they will receive ‘gofrit and esh’ (sulfur and fire), all the nations.

And we will merit to have the complete geula, and a happy Seder Night.

Translated from Shivivei Or #452.

Here’s what the chat said about ‘avnei algabish’, that I was having troubles translating:

“Avnei algabish” (אַבְנֵי אֶלְגָּבִישׁ or אַבְנֵי גָּבִישׁ in Hebrew) literally means “stones of ice” or “hailstones.”

  • “Avnei” (אַבְנֵי) = “stones of”
  • “Algabish / gavish” (אֶלְגָּבִישׁ / גָּבִישׁ) = ice, crystal, or hail

In many contexts—especially biblical or poetic—it refers specifically to hailstones, sometimes implying unusually large or destructive ones. For example, in the Book of Ezekiel (Ezekiel 13:11, 13:13), “avnei elgavish” describes divine hailstones used as a force of judgment.

Hel-lo, weird ‘meteors / comets’ etc.

I have a feeling things are about to get interesting. In a good way.

UPDATE:

Shmirat eynayim video of massive hailstones killing animals in Saudi Arabia, from two days ago:

==

Also a couple of days ago, Tunisia and Algeria were covered in such heavy hail it looked like snow:

Meanwhile, the US and UK are getting different stuff from shamayim:

    Hoshea Allen says:

    Rivky,

The אַבְנֵי אֶלְגָּבִישׁ are directly mentioned in the Gemara, Berachot 54b. These stones first appear in the time of Moshe, during the plague of barad but they didn’t fully descend. They remained suspended, only to be released later in the time of Yehoshua during one of his battles. So Yechezkel draws on that same phenomenon, presenting it not as a new event, but as the continuation of something already in motion, an earlier act whose completion had been deferred.

Maybe the Rav is suggesting that not every process in history unfolds in a single moment; some begin before the world is ready to contain them and therefore remain incomplete, held back until a later stage. When they reappear, it can seem sudden or disproportionate, but in reality it is the completion of something long underway. In this sense, moments of upheaval or judgment are not isolated incidents, but the final stage of a process that has been simmering under the surface. The future, then, is shaped not only by new actions, but by the release and resolution of forces that were initiated in the past and only now reach their full expression.

Maybe that’s why the Rav connects it to the Protocols. Nothing new, just a continuation of what started years ago, has simmered under the surface, awaiting final judgment.
