“The last war of Gog and Magog will be in 5972” – comments from the Rav
Translated from Shivivei Or 374.
***UPDATE: I am getting unconfirmed reports that Rav Berland has said the war is over, at least for now. I will try to get more details, but that certainly ‘fits’ with this excerpt below, if it’s true. Bezrat Hashem, it’s true.***
You can read the first part HERE, excerpted from a shiur given by Rav Eliezer Berland on Motzash, August 24th, 2024.
The last war of Gog and Magog will be in 5972
Each person should learn the Pirkey de’Rebbe Eliezer. Each person should buy a PIrkey de’Rebbe Eliezer, it’s 20 shekels. Whoever doesn’t have one – he’ll get a present from the Rav!
Now when you go home, study the Pirkey de’Rebbe Eliezer, chapter 28, about all the prophecy of the Brit Bein Ha Beitarim.
“And it happened, as the sun was about to set, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold – a dread, great darkness fell upon him.”[1]
“A dread, great darkness” – this is the last [war of] Gog and Magog, and this will only occur 28 years before the end of the sixth millenia.
==
Why 28?
When do we light candles in Jerusalem? 40 minutes before shkia (halachic twilight). How much is 40 minutes, in an hour? It’s two thirds!
How much is a year, in the ‘years of the world’?[2] 42!
So, 28 is exactly two thirds [of an hour].
Each girl should do the sums, if an hour is 42 [years], then how much is two thirds [of an hour]? How much is one third? 14! How much is two thirds? 28!
==
So, each person should study the Pirkey de’Rebbe Eliezer, chapter 28, at the end.
That the last geula will be in 5972.
Before that, there will be Gog and Magog, people will have to run away to the deserts.
Not a single Jew will remain here.
==
This is only [relevant to] the great-grandchildren of the great-grandchildren – maybe, they will be our reincarnations.
But the Rebbe said that whoever came closer to him will already not return in another reincarnation.
Whoever comes to Melaveh Malka is already not going to return in another incarnation.
But in any case, a person needs to pray about his great-grandchildren, and for their great-grandchildren.
That the ‘Chessed l’Avraham’ said that only 7,000 men would remain.
Seven thousand men would remain keeping Shabbat, from the whole of Am Yisrael.
There will be more, but the shomrei Shabbat who are not going to die in this war, this is only going to be 7,000.
And from them, the Jewish people will be re-established anew.
==
Each person should pray that his great-grandchildren, and his great, great, great grandchildren will be part of that 7,000.
And by way of this, the geula shleimah will come, speedily in our days, Amen.

FOOTNOTES:
[1] Bereishit 15:12.
[2] This is a reference to one of God’s days being the equivalent of 1,000 human years, based on the verse in Psalm 84: “For one day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand.” 1000 years divided by 24 ‘hours’ gives a total of 42 human years.

I am planning to put one or two more posts up, and then that’s it for this week.
There’s a lot of things going on, BH.
So, slow posting for the rest of this week, just FYI.
But don’t forget the prayer gathering called for next week, Thursday September 12th, in Hevron:
====
BH, that’s the next thing on my list to translate, what the Rav said about the importance of this prayer gathering next week.
====
UPDATE:
There was apparently another open miracle today – another booby-trapped bomb car stopped at the Hizma crossing, by the Pisgat Ze’ev suburb of Jerusalem.
Even though there is still hard tidings today, God is guarding over us all still.
And the prayers and the teshuva are working to ‘clean things up’ in a far more fundamental way than is perhaps obvious.
So keep going!
And don’t lose hope.
And come and pray with the Rav in Hevron next Thursday night.
Because that’s when the miracles cross over from ‘miraculous but hidden’ to ‘open and undeniable.’
Bezrat Hashem.

grafiti’ed it on mini-fridge wall with a grafiti tool – just the english, sorry i spelled caddiq with lebanon-writing.
If he’s the Messiah, how does that work?
Also, what will happen to the “NWO” in the meantime?
I don’t understand how moshiach could come now yet wars could continue 200 years later. He’s supposed to bring peace. Once the beit Hamikdash is here it has to be eternal, how could the evil ones have any power? The whole world will acknowledge only Hashem. This doesn’t sound like any kind of good news to my ears. Didn’t the Baba Sali and the rav have an agreement that moshiach would have to come this year even though the rav was more than happy to push it off?
Can’t be. 210 years before 6000 is Techias hameisim, MBY and the Beis HaMikdash and much more, UNLESS OUR CALENDAR COUNTING OF YEARS IS OFF A FEW HUNDRED YEARS.
It’s interesting you mention the calendar…. that is a whole can of worms I haven’t got near to yet, but ‘messing with the calendar’ has been going on since at least the time preceding Churban Number 2.
The Rav has hinted a number of times that the calendar is perhaps not as it seems. But I haven’t pinned anything ‘firm’ down myself, maybe other readers have more ideas.
Also, I was thinking about this more, and I wanted to ask you what are your sources for what needs to happen, before the year 6,000?
I know R Pinchas Winston sets out the timeline for all this stuff that happens, but what is he actually basing his timeline on?
Can you let me know what the source material is, and then we can try to figure this out a bit more, with God’s help?
Yes, Rabbi Winston is the main source and he has a printable time table graph. I can email it to you.
I can confirm that the Rav did indeed say “the war is over”. However, the context was related to last Sunday morning’s Lebanon attacks, and whether it was safe to visit the north. So, it was unclear to the person who asked the Rav about this whether he meant Lebanon attacks at the time, or if he meant the entire war.
do you take the 5972 date as”gospel?” with respect to the rav i hold by the wise philosopher larryberra who opined in baseball {and geula) nobody knows nuthin
Wow, such massive ‘respect’ for the Gadol HaDor….
If the gemara says that mashiach is one of the things that comes with hesek hadaat, perhaps the rav is trying to “distract” everyone? People have been putting so much hope and anticipation in mashaich coming “now” (for quite some time) that maybe he’s trying to get us to lose hope in an immediate salvation and by this create the requisite distraction? Trying to view the 188 more years being promised in an optimistic way…
sorry that was a kinda smarta/// remark .i wish the rav all the best but re geula i dont think anyone has a clue
People with genuine ‘ruach hakodesh’ have a clue…. the question is, if you think the Rav belongs in that category or not. (You don’t have to respond.)
i dont honestly know what ruach hakodesh is or looks like

Wonder if the 5972 Gog war aligns with the “distant future” and “distant day” as it is translated (end of days according to other translations) in English in Yechezkel 38 pasuk 8 and pasuk 16? Did Israel prior to Simchat Torah really fit the description of Israel before the war in this chapter? Perhaps we are entering the stage where we will be described at peace with mountains long lain desolate, a people liberated from the nations…. See the passage below:
After a long time you shall be summoned; in the distant future you shall march against the land [of a people] restored from the sword, gathered from the midst of many peoples—against the mountains of Israel, which have long lain desolate—[a people] liberated from the nations, and now all dwelling secure.
וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ כַּשֹּׁאָ֣ה תָב֔וֹא כֶּעָנָ֛ן לְכַסּ֥וֹת הָאָ֖רֶץ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְכׇל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אוֹתָֽךְ׃ {ס}
You shall advance, coming like a storm; you shall be like a cloud covering the earth, you and all your cohorts, and the many peoples with you.
Thus said the Sovereign GOD: On that day, a thought will occur to you, and you will conceive a wicked design.
You will say, “I will invade a land of open towns, I will fall upon a tranquil people living secure, all of them living in unwalled towns and lacking bars and gates,
in order to take spoil and seize plunder”—to turn your hand against repopulated wastes, and against a people gathered from among nations, acquiring livestock and possessions, living at the center of the earth.
שְׁבָ֡א וּ֠דְדָ֠ן וְסֹחֲרֵ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ וְכׇל־כְּפִירֶ֙יהָ֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ לְךָ֔ הֲלִשְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ אַתָּ֣ה בָ֔א הֲלָבֹ֥ז בַּ֖ז הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ קְהָלֶ֑ךָ לָשֵׂ֣את ׀ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֗ב לָקַ֙חַת֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן לִשְׁלֹ֖ל שָׁלָ֥ל גָּדֽוֹל׃ {ס}
Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants and all the magnates of Tarshish will say to you, “Have you come to take spoil? Is it to seize plunder that you assembled your hordes—to carry off silver and gold, to make off with livestock and goods, to gather an immense booty?”
Therefore prophesy, O mortal, and say to Gog: Thus said the Sovereign GOD: Surely, on that day, when My people Israel are living secure, you will take note,
and you will come from your home in the farthest north, you and many peoples with you—all of them mounted on horses, a vast horde, a mighty army—
וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ עַל־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כֶּעָנָ֖ן לְכַסּ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַיָּמִ֜ים תִּהְיֶ֗ה וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֙יךָ֙ עַל־אַרְצִ֔י לְמַ֩עַן֩ דַּ֨עַת הַגּוֹיִ֜ם אֹתִ֗י בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י בְךָ֛ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם גּֽוֹג׃ {ס}
and you will advance upon My people Israel, like a cloud covering the earth. This shall happen on that distant day: I will bring you to My land, that the nations may know Me when, before their eyes, I manifest My holiness through you, O Gog!
