Still filling in the backstory, between Parts 8-9.

In this part, which was actually the trickiest one to do so far, for a whole bunch of reasons, a storm blows down the Burgher’s Son’s little oasis of trees.

It’s his ‘safe place’, his comfort zone, the place where he was just going to surf Youtube videos and reminisce about the ‘good old times’, and feel sorry for himself for the rest of his life.

But, God had other plans.

God sent a massive storm to destroy the whole place, and uproot all the trees:

So now, the Burgher’s Son has a choice:

Either, he can go literally insane, trying to find the Princess’s Note – which anyway, he wasn’t going to do anything with, because he’d already got yeoush and given up on ever fixing the problem of how to marry her, when the Emperor wanted him dead.

Or, he can gird his loins, and decide to head back into the so-called ‘civilised world’ again – and whatever was going to happen, let it happen!!!

Because we can’t spend our lives running away from reality, or moping, or engaging in avoidant behaviours where we just keep ducking the work God actually sent us down here to do in the world.

So, the Burgher’s Son, out of his sense of yeoush, actually, decides to ‘go back to the normal world’.

And there, he decides that if he can’t have what he wants, i.e. to marry the Princess – let him at least make some money, in the process, and try to live a decent life.

That’s where we’re now holding in Rabbenu’s story:

The Burgher’s Son, who represents the Jewish people, decides to cash-in on his wisdom and knowledge, to live a good, secular life, because anyway – nothing is ever going to change.

Dafka, it’s the Burgher’s Son yeoush that actually ends up fixing the problem for everyone.
