Are ‘vitamins’ another big pharma scam?
Carrying on from the last two posts, I started to look into ‘vitamins’ myself.
YD put up two Wiki links for the people who are meant to have ‘invented’ vitamins: Casimir Funk (Polish Jew) and Frederick Gowland Hopkins (freemason). Funk’s page where was where I picked up the following bits of information:
After reading an article by Christiaan Eijkman that indicated that persons who ate brown rice were less vulnerable to beri-beri than those who ate only the fully milled product, Funk tried to isolate the substance responsible, and he succeeded. Because that substance contained an amine group, he called it “vitamine”. It was later to be known as vitamin B3 (niacin), although he thought it would be thiamine (vitamin B1) and described it as “anti-beri-beri-factor”.
We’ll return to whether Funk really succeeded in isolating ‘the substance responsible’ a little later on.
The point, is that whole foods can heal, and that processed foods (in this case brown rice vs polished white rice) were causing the ‘beri-beri’ problem.
So, Funk comes along, says that he’s isolated the part of the brown rice that is doing the ‘healing’, and refers to this new ‘substance’ is a VITAMINE, because it contains an “amine group. I went to look up what ‘amines’ are, here’s what it says on the Wiki page:
“In chemistry, amines are organic compounds that contain carbon-nitrogen bonds.”
That’s the basis of the word VITAMINE, that later had the final ‘e’ dropped, presumably to muddy the waters as to what most of these AMINES are actually being used for, in our modern world. We’re also told that:
Amines are ubiquitous in biology. The breakdown of amino acids releases amines, famously in the case of decaying fish which smell of trimethylamine. Many neurotransmitters are amines, including epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, and histamine.
If you are noticing that the terminology being used is already ‘Big Pharma’ – mazal tov! You are starting to figure this out.
==
Next, here are the headings from that same Wiki page for how AMINES are being ‘applied’ in our modern world:
> Dyes – e.g. Methyl Orange and Sunset Yellow
> Drugs – e.g. Amphetamine, Morphine, Heroin, amongst many, many others, that you get prescribed from medical doctors.
> Gas Treatment – e.g. removing CO2 from natural gas, in a process called ‘sweetening’.
> Epoxy Resin Curing Agents – e.g. dimethylethylamine and cyclohexylamine.
==
How strange, that ‘VITAMINES’, that were named because of their link to all these AMINE ‘organic compounds’ are being left off the list here…
Before we leave the AMINES page, let’s just bring the safety information about AMINES:
Low molecular weight simple amines, such as ethylamine, are toxic with LD50 between 100 and 1000 mg/kg. They are skin irritants, especially as some are easily absorbed through the skin. Amines are a broad class of compounds, and more complex members of the class can be extremely bioactive, for example strychnine.
Park all this for now, because of course, VITAMINES can’t just be all this dangerous chemicals stuff repackaged as ‘health supplements’ for an unsuspecting public….
Could they?
==
Back on Casimir Funk‘s Wiki page, it says that after inventing VITAMINES, he goes to work for the following organisations:
- The Lister Institute
- The Pasteur Institute
- U.S. Vitamin & Pharmaceutical Corp.
If you’ve been following the va ccs scam, those first two are probably already setting off alarm bells. It’s easy to look those two up on your own, so I went to track down the third one, the U.S. VITAMIN & PHARMACEUTICAL CORP.
It was bought out by Revlon in 1966. This screenshot is a press release from HERE – which turns up another strange CO-IN-CI-DENCE:

Revlon are located at: 666 5th Avenue – the same building that JARED KUSHNER bought in 2007, with lots and lots of help from QATAR…
Meanwhile, the U.S. VITAMIN & PHARMACEUTICAL CORP are described as being:
“engaged in the research, development, manufacture and sale of pharmaceutical specialties.”
I am still looking for the ‘healthy vitamins’ in the middle of all this Big Pharma, so now I decide to go and read up on how ‘healthy vitamins’ are actually made – and how that differs from all the unhealthy dyes, drugs, gas treatment and epoxy resin curing stuff, described above.
==
I decided to focus on three ‘vitamins’: Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin K – those last two, inspired by Hava’s comment, and the first one, because it’s ubiquitous.
The search began on the Wiki page for VITAMINS – as opposed to ‘AMINES’, which are exactly the same things.
Here’s a few snippets that took my eye.
First, proof that AMINES, described above, are one and the same as VITAMINS:
The term “vitamin” was derived from “vitamine”, a portmanteau coined in 1912 by the biochemist Casimir Funk while working at the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine. Funk created the name from vital and amine, because it appeared that these organic micronutrient food factors that prevent beriberi and perhaps other similar dietary-deficiency diseases were required for life, hence “vital”, and were chemical amines, hence “amine”. This was true of thiamine, but after it was found that vitamin C and other such micronutrients were not amines, the word was shortened to “vitamin” in English
==
Read this next bit carefully, to see how we’re being fooled into making a distinction between ‘healthy vitamins’ and ‘unhealthy chemicals’ (or even just regular chemicals that can be useful in some instances, but poisonous and even lethal in others):
History of promotional marketing
Once discovered, vitamins were actively promoted in articles and advertisements….In 1942, when flour enrichment with nicotinic acid began, a headline in the popular press said “Tobacco in Your Bread.”
In response, the Council on Foods and Nutrition of the American Medical Association approved of the Food and Nutrition Board‘s new names niacin and niacin amide for use primarily by non-scientists.
It was thought appropriate to choose a name to dissociate nicotinic acid from nicotine, to avoid the perception that vitamins or niacin-rich food contains nicotine, or that cigarettes contain vitamins. The resulting name niacin was derived from nicotinic acid + vitamin.
How bout all those healthy vitamins in cigarettes!
I now, I am starting to wonder if the niacin / nicotine in the tobacco is part of what is inhibiting many of the GO and nanotech issues associated with the jabs… Because there is evidence that smokers are experiencing way less cardiovascular effects from taking the shots. But that’s a story for another time.
==
Point is: the AMA and FNB decided to make an arbitrary name change in 1942, to turn ‘unhealthy chemical’ nicotine into ‘healthy vitamin’ niacin.
But essentially, it’s the same nicotinic acid showing up in your smokes, and your ‘fortified bread’. And yes, nicotinic acid does have some health benefits, AND ALSO, some health drawbacks. It’s not either / or.
==
OK, so now let’s see if we can figure out what VITAMIN C actually is, or is said to be, and how it’s made industrially, and marketed as VITAMINS.
If you can be bothered, watch this short animated video, at double-speed (I started it at the interesting part):
==
If you can’t be bothered to watch, it says that this is how they industrially ‘make’ Vitamin C – the Vitamin C that ends up in pills and dietary supplements, not the real stuff you get naturally in fruits and vegetables:
D-GLUCOSE > D-SORBITOL > L-SORBOSE > DI-ACETONE SORBOSE > 2-KETO-L-GULONIC ACID > ‘VITAMIN C’, aka ‘ASCORBIC ACID’.
I am no chemist, and not pretending to be.
So what follows, is what I could pick up from open sources.
==
First, that D-GLUCOSE is regular glucose, i.e. a sugar. Which is then turned into D-SORBITOL – which is apparently, according to this chemistry ‘Assay Protocol’ exactly the same thing as XYLITOL, the stuff Dr Ellie recommends to heal cavities in teeth.
Dr Ellie says in her book that drinking a lot of fruit juice and taking ‘Vitamin C’ supplements can wreck the enamel on people’s teeth.
Here is the ‘Assay Protocol’ explaining why that is:
INTERFERENCE:
High concentrations of reducing substances, such as L-ascorbic acid in fruit juices, or SO2 in jam, interfere with the assay as they react with INT causing a “creep” reaction.
==
Next, the XYLITOL / D-SORBITOL goes through more refining processes, to become L-SORBOSE, and then ACETONE.
Yes, the same chemical ACETONE you used to use to remove nail polish, before acrylic nails became the thing.
Now, we are starting to understand why ACETONE also shows up in the fake orange juice you can buy in the super, instead of the fresh-squeezed stuff. (All ‘VITAMIN C’!!!)
==
Next, the ACETONE is made into something called 2-KETO-L-GULONIC ACID, and apparently they just take the H2O out of that, and voila, you have ‘VITAMIN C’, aka ‘ASCORBIC ACID’.
At this point, I went to try to figure out what actually is this ‘refining method’ they are using, to turn ACETONE into ‘VITAMIN C’?
Bottom line, they feed the ACETONE to two bacterium, called K. Vulgare and Bacillus Megaterium.
Here’s a little about Bacillus Megaterium:
(Latin) Bacillus megaterium (after 2020, Priestia megaterium) is a species of Gram-positive rod-shaped bacteria used in biofertilizers in agriculture and horticulture]. It is one of the largest bacteria found in soil…. This species of bacteria can rarely cause meningitis, wound infections, and be a source of bacteremia.
What in the world?!
In case you don’t know what ‘Bacteremia’ is referring to, here’s the gist:
Bacteremia occurs in plague, tularemia, anthrax, typhoid fever, animal bites, as well as in numerous rickettsioses, spirochetose, yellow fever, etc.
==
So, to plain English this, they feed acetone to the bacterium that cause meningitis, infections and bacteremia – and then that creates the liquid base that they then remove the water from, to create ‘VITAMIN C’ / ascorbic acid.
This is the industrial process used to create ‘Vitamin C’ – that same ‘Vitamin C’ we are all chewing on and chugging down, from the healthfood store, and high-priced supplement providers.
==
So now, I went back to try to figure out how xylitol is being ‘synthesized’ industrially.
I got to THIS, another chemistry document talking about the ‘Microbial production of xylitol, l-xylulose and l-xylose’. On the upside, it confirms what Dr Ellie is teaching, re:
As a meso-sugar, xylitol is an intermediate between d- and l-sugars. It has several interesting characteristics, such as the ability to prevent dental caries and ear infections.
On the downside – it’s being synthesized via E-coli bacteria:
[T]he xylitol-4-dehydrogenase from Pantoea ananatis was produced recombinantly in Escherichia coli and characterized.
There may be a natural way natural xylitol is stripped straight from the birch tree, this requires more investigation.
==
OK, now we’re on to ‘Vitamin D3’, aka, the active ingredient in rat poison.
Agent131711 did a good deep-dive on that subject, as already covered, which you can read HERE. Now that I’m back on his site, I see he also did a really good, long informative post called 101 reasons to quit vitamins.
It’s setting out a lot of the info I’m tracing back, in his own style, and with more details about more synthetic ‘vitamins’ – which is the ONLY type of vitamin any supplement seller is providing, even the really honest, moral ones, who swallowed this whole scam down, hook, line and sinker.
So, let’s take the short-cut on Vitamin D3, and dive right into ‘Vitamin K’.
==
Vitamin K and Vitamin D are apparently being touted as the ‘dream-team’ for bone building and retention.
HERE is just one example of an apparently above-board, scientific journal account of this amazing ‘synergy’. Snippet:
Overall, 12 studies involving 8216 participants were included in the qualitative analysis. Among these, 5 were randomized controlled trials, 6 were observational studies, and 1 was interventional studies. The results were interpreted based on improved bone health by assessing the progress in Bone Mineral Content (BMC), lower extremity function, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), and bone turnover. In contrast, improvement in cardiovascular health was recorded based on the Carotid Intima-media Thickness (CIMT), arterial stiffness, high systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and the structure of the heart. Out of a total 12 studies, 11 studies showed that Vitamin D work in synergy with Vitamin K and also has a significant role in improving bone fractures, low BMD, and cardiovascular disorders.
==
Sure sounds impressive….
I would have to go through every single study, doing the deep dive on each, to figure out if these results are true or not, and whether there was any ‘funny business’ going on, as there so often is, with ‘peer reviewed’ studies on new substances that can be sold by Big Pharma for big bucks.
I’m not doing that right now, but let’s just say, it wouldn’t be the first time such amazing health claims were being made by Big Pharma for stuff that is actually poison, and / or has serious, unacknowledged side effects.
Instead, let’s see how ‘Vitamin K’ is manufactured, and how it’s used, and then we can decide for ourselves, if it sounds like something that is promoting our health, or not.
==
Apparently like all this stuff, synthetic Vitamin K is manufactured by feeding different stuff to bacteria.
THIS description comes from a 2003 issue of the scientific journal, Current Organic Chemistry:
The first reported laboratory syntheses of vitamin K1 came independently from the laboratories of Fieser, [11] Binkley, [12] and Almquist / Klose [13] in 1939. Here, condensation of either, menadione 3 or 2-methyl-1,4-naphthohydroquinone 4, with natural phytol 5 in the presence of oxalic acid or zinc dust in acetic acid, respectively, gave vitamin K1 (Scheme 1).
I’m not a chemist, and I don’t pretend to be.
But by the 1990s, they had refined the process of synthesizing ‘Vitamin K’, to include:
A final Stille coupling with prenyl bromide gave MK-1 in 90% yield (Scheme 6).

This safety information is about a chemical that can irritate the skin, based on data from 1,333 companies reported to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Here’s what it means in plain English:
- Warning: Causes skin irritation (H315): This chemical can make your skin red, itchy, or uncomfortable if it touches it. It’s classified as a moderate skin irritant (Category 2 under the Globally Harmonized System, or GHS).
- 96.47%: This percentage shows that nearly all (96.47%) of the 1,333 companies reporting to ECHA agree this chemical causes skin irritation.
- Precautionary Codes (P-Codes): These are instructions to handle the chemical safely:
- P261: Avoid breathing in dust, fumes, gas, mist, vapors, or spray from the chemical.
- P264: Wash your hands and any exposed skin thoroughly after handling it.
- P271: Only use the chemical in well-ventilated areas to avoid inhaling it.
- P280: Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye protection, or face protection when handling it.
- P302+P352: If it gets on your skin, wash the area with plenty of soap and water.
- P304+P340: If you breathe it in, move to fresh air and breathe normally.
- P305+P351+P338: If it gets in your eyes, rinse them gently with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if you wear them and keep rinsing.
- P312: If you feel unwell after exposure, call a poison center or doctor.
- P321: Follow specific treatment instructions (check the chemical’s safety data sheet).
- P332+P313: If your skin gets irritated, get medical advice or attention.
- P337+P313: If your eyes stay irritated after rinsing, get medical advice.
- P362: Take off any contaminated clothing and wash it before wearing it again.
- P403+P233: Store the chemical in a well-ventilated place and keep the container tightly closed.
- P405: Keep the chemical locked up or stored securely.
- P501: Dispose of the chemical or its container according to local regulations (e.g., at a hazardous waste facility).
Source: This info comes from 1,333 companies across 5 submissions to ECHA’s Classification and Labelling Inventory, meaning multiple companies handling this chemical reported similar findings.
In short, this chemical can irritate your skin, so handle it carefully, wear protective gear, and follow safety steps if you’re exposed. Always check the specific safety data sheet for more details.

While I was trying to pin this down more, I learned that there are two types of Vitamin K.
One type is called Vitamin K1 – aka Phytomenadione.
AKA ‘Hemophyt’ – literally sold as an anti-coagulation poisoning drug for dogs, at least in Canada. Snippet:
Description
Each film-coated tablet contains 50 mg of phytomenadione (Ph. Eur.), a vitamin K1 used as an antidote following ingestion of vitamin K antagonistic anticoagulants. The molecular formula of the active substance phytomenadione is C31H46O2.
==
Plain english, ‘Vitamin K1’ is a Big Pharma synthesized antidote for anticoagulant poisoning.
How are dogs being ‘poisoned’ like this in the first place, I hear you ask? Here’s the answer:
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Oral treatment should be undertaken within 12 hours after the end of emergency Vitamin K1 treatment by the intravenous route, or during the first 36-72 hours (early phase) after the time of confirmed/suspected anticoagulant rodenticide ingestion.
Plain english: the dogs are eating rat poison, or ‘rodenticide ingestion’.
==
What is the ‘active ingredient’ in rat poison, you want to know, I’m sure….
Why, that would be ‘Vitamin D3’.
Watch this (or just listen to it, if you don’t want to watch a woman on screen):
==
So yes, we see it is a ‘synergistic pairing’ after all!
The ‘Vitamin D3’ strips the calcium out of the bones, slowly over time, and also causes anti-coagulation poisoning to the rats and people taking it.
And then, the ‘Vitamin K1’ comes along, to reduce the anti-coagulation poisoning – in dogs. And people, who are taking these ‘synergistic’ supplements.
==
Here’s the safety info, for Vitamin K1, from that same Canadian dog site:
WARNINGS
People with known hypersensitivity to phytomenadione should avoid contact with this product. Wash hands after use. To avoid accidental ingestion, particularly by a child, unused part-tablets should be returned to the open blister space and inserted back into the carton.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Very rarely, erythema, pruritus, dermatitis, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, and allergic edema have been reported.
You see all those references to skin allergies, irritation and corrosion?
You know where that is coming from, right? It’s the good ol’ prenyl bromide they use to synthesise ‘Vitamin K’:
In short, this chemical can irritate your skin, so handle it carefully, wear protective gear, and follow safety steps if you’re exposed.
==
What’s even more crazy, is that the hospital inject ‘Vitamin K’ straight into newborns as soon as they are born….
Tov.
I will stop there for now.
Do your own research, come to your own conclusions.
Good stuff that we can call ‘vitamins’ for want of a better word does exist in food, and in sunshine, and other things the Creator of the world created for us.
But the stuff you find in the pills, the ‘supplements’, is synthesized, and some degree of chemical ‘poison’, in exactly the same way that Big Pharma drugs are.
That doesn’t mean, btw, that some of that stuff won’t have beneficial effects at least some of the time, the same way regular drugs also do.
And to pull it back around to the discussion of fluoride, xylitol and teeth, if knowledgeable, conscientious and moral researchers can see that these substances can benefit if used in very precise ways, following very precise instructions, that’s something some people may want to consider, if the alternative is otherwise cracked teeth, root canals, and more injections of GO-laced dental anesthesia.
Each person has to do their own cheshbon.
But me personally?
I am staying far, far away from synthesized ‘Vitamins’.
But still using stuff like MMS, and colloidal silver, and essential oils, etc.
You think for yourself, dear reader, and my God grant us all continued good health, whichever path we follow.
==
UPDATE:
Just to keep this ‘complete’, I also went to look up Vitamin K2, apparently the other form of ‘Vitamin K’.
Long story short… ‘Vitamin K2’ is a byproduct of bacteria, AKA MENAQUINONES.
I am still trying to figure out the terminology, and would welcome any help, but it looks like ‘Vitamin K2’ is literally the bacteria themselves.
Take a look at THIS SITE: https://www.intechopen.com/chapters/50921
From what I can tell, no-one is actually ‘synthesizing’ Vitamin K1, because it’s literally the bacteria itself.
I am happy to stand corrected, if I am reading this wrong… but in the meantime, that seems to be where we’ve got to.
‘Vitamin K1’ is beneficial bacteria called MENAQUINONES, found in a bunch of dairy products and fermented foods, amongst other places, and ‘Vitamin K2’ is a chemical / drug called ‘Vitamin K’ when its sold as a supplement, and Phytomenadione, when it’s sold as a drug. And that last one seems to be the only one that Big Pharma can ‘synthesize’ and package.

This made me think of Trump’s good friend (Hulk Hogan) who just died that created a famous slogan in the 80s for kids “eat your vitamins and say your prayers”, funny thing is his vitamins were steroids.
I used to be very “religious” for many years about a small number of vitamins I took every day (except Shabbos and Pesach).
Then I read a number of deeply researched and sourced articles at this (https://chemtrails.substack.com/) site, including vitamins I thought were essential and healthy, and decided I was wrong. Highly recommended to read what he wrote. Very disturbing stuff.
As I read further, I noticed you mentioned Agent131711. He also did a deep dive into the manufacture of Vitamin C.
BTW all the precursor chemicals, or the vitamins themselves, are sourced in bulk from China and India.
Someone sent me one of his articles a few months ago. It inspired this post, but i like to check things out myself, too.

See Rabbenu’s story The Tainted Grain
this makes my head spin. but on the topic of vit. D I read the following a few years ago on the humanly telegram channel that I’ll share here:
“Sunlight VS Supplements
If you have ever been camping, you will know that radiant heat from a campfire will keep you warm at night. When you wake up the next morning, the fire has gone out and a pile of ash is all that remains. Think of the fire as the sun, the radiant heat as the light, and the ash pile as the vitamin D. The ash is simply evidence that a fire was once there, just like vitamin D is evidence of exposure to the sun. You can’t collect the ash pile, put it into a container, then sprinkle it on the ground expecting it to keep you warm the next night. Similarly, you can’t take a vitamin D pill expecting it to replace sun exposure. Taking a supplement will merely raise vitamin D levels on a blood test, making it look like you’ve been exposed to the sun when you really haven’t.
It’s time to re-evaluate our relationship with the sun.
Get sun, not supps. source: https://esmed.org/MRA/mra/article/view/3635”
on the topic of sun and healing the me’am lo’ez brings down that avraham avinu wore a precious stone around his neck. whenever a sick person gazed at it he would be healed. when avraham avinu left this world hashem took this precious stone and placed it in the sun. we see that even if someone feels ill during the night he feels better when the sun begins to shine. therefor it is not proper to do bikkur cholim in the morning since a choleh feels better at that time and the visitor will think he has recovered and won’t pray properly for him. we see that when God visited avraham avinu on the third day after brit milah He did not come first thing in the morning.
we can also learn from the four winds why a sick person feels worse at some points in the day and better at others. the east wind blows from dawn to midday bringing healing. the west wind blows from midday until nightfall bringing beauty. the south wind blows from nightfall until midnight and warms the coldness of the earth. it is beneficial to the world in general but harmful to the sick (this is also when the resha’im are judged in purgatory because people are asleep and there’s no one to daven for them). the north wind blows from midnight to daybreak and this wind is strongest. it is most beneficial to the sick and brings the fragrance of the trees and herbs of gan eden to the tzadikim.
returning to avraham avinu, in general all the sick people during avraham avinu’s time were cured, certainly if the tzadik davened for him but even if avraham passed by in the street and the sick person saw him through the window he would be healed. in the merit of avraham sterile women were able to have children. another example from chaza”l on how connection to the true tzadik brings refuah.
It’s v. interesting, especially about the winds. The last few years, I could feel the wind bringing some ‘judgements’ – like the night of Simchat Torah, 2023, immediately after midnight there was a very strong, weird wind in the Old City that mamash felt like some ‘ruach ra’ moving across for five minutes, like a mini-hurricane, that came out of nowhere, then stopped again.
Re: health, it has to be a composite of body, mind / emotions and soul – if a person is soul-sick, that is going to trickle down and poison everything else, even if the diet is 100% organic.
Like all this, it’s a very delicate, intricate balance, to see what God is really asking for us to look at and change.
I learn time and again from my own experience how health is such a complex dance…
I’m looking for where in LM rabeinu explains how an illness can lie dormant in a person from infancy or even passed down from the parents and sickness may only manifest late in life as a consequence of their behavior. the illness may disappear entirely and you’d never know it was there if you do teshuva.
when discussing the longevity of man before the mabul chaza”l explain that some lived so long partly because they were diligent in their diet eating very moderately. we see the tzadikim are careful with their eating habits “tzadik ochel l’sovah nafsho” the tzadik eats to satiate his nefesh. I love the story where one of the chassidim once asked reb nosson for his guidance/advice on a matter and reb nosson replied that he didn’t know if he should take another bite of soup – was it truly for his nourishment or only to fill his lust for food – so how could he possibly advise this chossid? even over a bite of soup the true tzadikim are exacting.
sorry about this, not sure how much if any of this is useful.
the wheat flour industry is obviously invested in the lie that ‘macronutrient starch’ flour with the germ removed(so that it lasts longer), and the bran removed to make cake easier.
the big scam is the idea that ‘fortified’ flour can be made ‘just as good as whole wheat’ by adding back a few vitamins(where i would suspect their bio-availability).
wheat germ goes bad fast in air. best to grind wheat before baking if possible.
i had a chinese flat-blade hammer-blender(sorry, i have brain damage, not sure what it’s called) grinder.
it cost me about 90 or so USD.
small moths like to try to infest whole grains of wheat, obviously not a kosher species.
synthetic vitamins are a really bad idea. making them our of other chemicals in a lab obviously risks other substances in the process that are not yet known to be harmful, because it’s not like big business is going to really care if they run studies on an industrial process only to find that there’s too much PFAS or teflon or bisphenol A or whatever is still considered ‘not known to be toxic’.
there are charts about what foods have what levels of vitamins, and foods have better bioavailability, so it’s better if there is a deficiency by having more of foods that have higher levels of the missing minerals or vitamins, while looking out for allergies.
vitamins are the parts of healthy food which are not macronutrients (the most common lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins) or minerals.
any healthy substance is poison in too high an amount. a vitamin d supplement can be really tiny, which tells something about how much a person actually needs. (sunlight and not washing the face seem like one of the better ways to get enough of it)
‘super-foods’ are usually a bad idea outside of a few cases where a person might need a carnivore(no plant) diet, and this is rare.
‘super-food’ is a popular scam buzzword. too much of the same food tends to cause an allergy to it, as its toxins/husk compounds accumulate.
a mild allergic reaction can be addictive, causing the allergy to get worse. the body releases adrenaline to fight the inflammation (from toxins from too much of the same thing building up).
the adrenaline is part of managing inflammation, but also can be addictve.
not good to over-use it, it makes inflammation worse, and stresses a person.
as for epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, and histamine, seems that big pharma would name their drugs after these, not the other way around.
epinephrine is adrenaline. both names refer to the adrenal glands near the kidneys.
thanks for writing about these topics.
sorry, forgot to mention that i’ve used vitamin c made from rose-hips.
problem is, the company doesn’t have a heksher, but the recipe is interesting. a bunch of herbs and spices have vitamins, and some less-popular fruits.
some of their other stuff is possibly from limb of a living animal, no way to know, because they don’t have a heksher.
definitely there’s a use for essential oils.
alchemists have been distilling stuff for a long time, essential oil is distilled if i’m not mistaken.
silver also, i looked at that patent from rabbi marvin s. antelman z”l for Ag4O4 tetrasil. don’t know much about it.
i forgot what is MMS, but the local tap water has hypochlorite in it. after a water contamination disaster, the region mandated levels of hypochlorite beyond what was optimal(to compensate for really long mains pipes and have a margin for error). it wasn’t bad before the disaster. now i boil it sometimes to dechlorinate, which precipitates minerals from it and makes it taste like a teakettle.
i’ve heard of boiling and freezing water to purify it, to decalcify(and deflouridate?) the pineal.
“Good stuff that we can call ‘vitamins’ for want of a better word does exist in food, and in sunshine, and other things the Creator of the world created for us.”
אלו מעשה הקדוש ברוך הוא, ואלו מעשה ידי אדם. אמר לו: אין אלו נאים יותר
That quote from the midrash is referring to TurnusRufus questioning Rabbi Akiva as to why man needs to ‘perfect’ the work of the Creator, by performing circumcisions, and then Rabbi Akiva replies: ‘these are not more beautiful’.
Only a sicko would try to pretend that this applies to turning acetone into ‘Vitamin C’. Last I looked, there was no ‘mitzvah’ described in the Torah to take all of God’s bounty and ‘perfect’ by turning it into toxic poisons.
As usual, another great example of how so-called ‘rational Jews’ (which can also be spelled H-E-R-E-T-I-C-S) like to take Torah sources demonstrating the wonderfully high spiritual level of mitzvot like circumcision, to run interference for the same people and institutions that marketed heroin as a cure for asthma in the 1920s…
“Only a sicko would try to pretend that this applies to turning acetone into ‘Vitamin C’
Vitamin C is not toxic under normal doses (and regular doses can be achieved easily by most most diets.)
Acetone is now flowing through your body as part of normal metabolic processes. Ascorbic acid is a molecule and it makes no difference how that molecule was formed. Your claim that Vitamin C is a “toxic poison” is not based on science. Molecules have no memory. That water you just drank may have contained a molecule that could well have been part of a death cap mushroom. (And a death cap mushroom is more natural then a soyburger!)
Turnusrufus expresses a pagan belief that all that is natural is sacred. The modern “pagans” express that idea when they promote abominable relationships. The same goes for advocates of paleo and raw food diets. There are very few examples of “God’s bounty” that can’t be improved upon by Man. Your apartment is better than the jungle canopy or desert cave. Your blog is better than smoke signals. The selectively bred watermelon is better than its ancestor from 500 years ago. Wine is better than grapes. Bread is better than wheat kernels still attached to the chaff.
The מלאכות of שבת are predicated on Man’s improvement of “God’s bounty”. You listened to עשרת הדיברות today read from parchment. Do you know how parchment is made? It’s a nasty pong of a process- as חז”ל say:
ואוי לו מי שאומנותו בורסקי!
And yet that ספר תורה is better and far removed from the natural skin off a cow’s carcass despite it being straight from “God’s bounty”.
I’ll also note that the (billion dollar) Vitamin and Supplement industry are often at odds with Big Pharma. For years, we’ve been hearing from supplement advocates that all one needs to avoid expensive prescription drugs is to take supplements. Mainstream doctors have been saying for decades that most people can get all the nutrients they need from their diets- and that supplements are a scam. Big Vitamin/Supplement have for decades promoted themselves an anti-Big Pharma.

You should be a bit nicer.
We should all be a bit nicer…. shouldn’t we?
Fantastic post, Rivka. Eye-opening in so many ways.
One point I’d like to add is that eating natural foods will always be healthier than taking artificial supplements.
When we eat an Orange for example, the body only converts it to Vitamin C if it requires it. Thus you can’t really OD on eating fruits and vegetables.
However, when consuming it as an artificial supplement such as a pill, the compound is already broken into the vitamin and therefore the body has no choice but to absorb it whether it needs it or not.
Vitamins are beneficial, but are best consumed in their natural G-d given form. Furthermore, prolonged dependency on artificial supplements reduced the body’s absorption of these vitamins over time.
It’s a good point, well made.
Jude Abraham also commented in another post (https://thinkforyourselfpublishing.com/kiss-your-dentist-goodbye/#comments):
“Hi Rivka,
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Here’s my response to the Vitamin D3 beign dangerous:
Vitamin D is indeed one of the fat-soluble vitamins (along with A, E, and K) that can accumulate in the body, which is why dosage awareness is important. At extremely high doses, vitamin D can cause hypercalcemia (excessive calcium in the bloodstream), potentially damaging kidneys and other organs.
However, the dosage difference is crucial:
For humans, toxicity typically requires taking enormous amounts – around 50,000 IU daily for extended periods – far beyond recommended supplementation levels (typically 1,000-5,000 IU for most adults).
So for a tiny rat weighing perhaps 1/3000th of a human, a concentrated dose is lethal because it overwhelms their much smaller system. (You could technically make a mousetrap with Iron too too, but that won’t make it dangerous for humans).
This principle applies to many substances. Water is essential for life, but drinking excessive amounts can cause hyponatremia and death. Iron supplements are beneficial for many people but can be toxic at high doses. Sodium is necessary but excessive consumption causes health problems. If anything, vitamin A is actually easier to overdose on than vitamin D for most people.”
This makes the most sense. What’s good for humans will kill a rat!
The best thing that could kill the vitamin industry is if farmers would (or, be allowed to) put all the right things into the SOIL they grow food in. And no weedkillers where they don’t belong!
I have tremendous respect for Jude, but I’m struggling to believe that what is bad for rats is somehow good for humans. If that were true, we should all be drinking pints of Round-Up…
