After a few years of being out of print, OIAG 1 is back in print, Baruch Hashem.

You can pick it up HERE.

In keeping with the Rav’s instructions that all the books etc should be kept as cheap as possible – it’s as cheap as possible, given that Amazon gets nearly every cent, in any case.

But what’s even more exciting, is that now you can also LISTEN TO IT, as an audio book.

Amazon started this new ‘virtual voice’ thing, and it actually does a pretty good job of narration.

The audio book of OIAG 1 is 99 cents… you can’t even buy a bad coffee for that these days.

I think.

====

OIAG ALWAYS comes out just as things seem to be hotting up in the world.

I’m really off the news, but still getting sent a few things via email, or hearing stuff from husband and kids.

It seems there is a lot going on right now.

The last time OIAG 1 was published hard copy was back in 2018…. the year before ‘Covid 19’, when many people were still hopeful that Trump was taking down the swamp, and other painful jokes like that.

The Rav had just come out of prison, (the first time….) and there was such a sense of renewed optimism and hope in the air, that maybe, just maybe, things were going to start improving now.

Sadly, we weren’t worthy of that happened seven years ago.

But maybe, we are now in a different ‘seven years cycle’, and OIAG 1 being republished is maybe a sign that the circle has finally been closed – and things can now really move forward.

In a positive way.

Whatever that actually means.

====

Just a reminder, you can still donate for the Kollel Hatzot’s Kimche de Pischa, HERE.

My contact told me three people from the site donated – so thank you very much to all of them!

And I am sure, 100%, that that tzedaka is going to stand the donors in very good stead, going forward.

The world of lies is wobbling away, isn’t it?

But I’m feeling pretty happy, to be honest.

Hating all the Pesach cleaning, as usual, but seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

====

I am planning to put up some more translations from the Rav over the next few days, but in case I can’t manage to do that, let me just wish all the readers a Chag Sameach.

I hope you have a good Pesach.

I  hope we all get redeemed, this motzash.

And I just want to stress, that the best way of not getting stressed about the ‘world of lies’ collapsing, is to be off-line, and in the real world, as much as possible.

God is doing everything.

And it’s all for our ultimate best.

So, don’t give yourself a heart attack following the corrupt news or ‘influencers’ in the meantime.

All the illnesses – because a person goes against the Tzaddik

‘Oro Meroz – Curse Meroz!’[1]

He brought 100 shofars, he excommunicated the residents of Meroz.

Here, it’s written that this was a city of four amot, because they didn’t come to help the Tzaddik, so he excommunicated them.

So [or, alternatively], Meroz was a ‘big man’, and there are those that say it was a star.

==

Back then, all the stars descended from shemayim to fight.

Whoever goes against the Tzaddik, and the stars descend upon him, even if he keeps a bit shomer eynayim – it doesn’t matter.

All the stars – the comets, they burn him, and his wife.

==

A person doesn’t know why he’s sick.

Because, he went against the Tzaddik!

All the illnesses that a person has, it’s because he goes against the Tzaddik, that he criticises without knowing anything at all, that he’s not something.

He stam becomes polluted in his thinking, if someone [else] goes against the Tzaddik, he becomes confused from this, and on the spot, he becomes an opponent.

All the illnesses are because people go against the Tzaddik.

“Because they didn’t come to help Hashem against the mighty.[2]

==

So, “’Curse Meroz,’ said the angel of Hashem.’[3]

The angel said this.

Devorah dafka apologised.

It’s not me, forgive me! I’m not involved in this!

Straight away, she tried to evade this. I’m not here for these types of things, I’m not!

What is this, ‘I’m not’? What is this?

Tell the truth!

“[They stopped living in unwalled towns in Israel, they stopped:] Until I, Devorah, arose; I arose as a mother in Israel.”[4]

“Give praise, give praise, O Devorah!”[5]

Tell the truth!

She already saw that the Shechina had departed from her, [so she tried to remedy that with]:

Give praise, give praise, O Devorah!

==

If a person doesn’t come to help the Tzaddik, then he’s cursed.

He needs to be aware of his own thoughts.

[4] Judges 5:7.

[5] Judges 5:12.

Shiur given over on Monday even, 2nd of Nissan, 5785, after Ma’ariv (March 31, 2025)

The girls are to finish the Sefer Tehillim every day.

Now, they aren’t returning hostages, they only want to free five. We want ten, so we need to pray that the hostages will be returned, that already this gehinnom of theirs should end, that they are the most righteous.

==

And Zikim, this was the ‘Gate to Gan Eden.’

Zikim was the gate, they, they went to immerse on Simchat Torah, and then 25 boats came with 20 terrorists [in each], or 20, with 25 terrorists. Everything was planned. They sent the army away. This was simply a coup.

There are demonstrations, Ronen Bar, all of this, the [—] designed this, that they would burn the kibbutzim and then bring down Bibi.

And this was mamash a coup.

==

Now, it’s being revealed that this was a planned coup, mamash, they made agreements with the Hamas, that the army wouldn’t be there.

This was a coup. All of them are leftists, they wanted to bring down Bibi, to bring down the right. This is a government of dati’im (religious). They wanted to bring it down.

==

So, Zikim was the ‘Gate to Gan Eden’.

But we wanted that they… That the girls would be seminary girls, and the boys [would be] roshei yeshivot. We didn’t want that they would go to gan eden [before their time].

We are ‘anti’ gan eden. The chilonim are ‘for’ gan eden. The chilonim say:

Do aveirot (sins) – you’ll go straight to gan eden!

Us, we have something against gan eden – only after 120! In the meantime, they need to be roshei yeshivot. Every person now has time to become a rosh yeshiva.

==

(Skipping some, where the Rav encourages the boys to continue learning 8 pages of gemara a day, and says that the Chazon Ish used to say a person can learn even more in bein hazmanim, then when they have the mashgiach breathing down their neck in yeshiva.)

==

Now, it was five degrees.

Five degrees! Now, the winter is beginning all over again. It could be that on Pesach, rain will also fall then. It used to rain on Pesach, floods. We were in Shikun 5, we used to go to Rashbam Street.

In the middle of a flood, we would go after Seder Night.

==

We used to do [Seder Night] by my father-in-law, by Avraham Shaki.

He used to learn all the time – just used to learn, all the time. He didn’t take his head out of a book even for a second. He used to run the whole school…. And Yaakov Melamed, then, he wasn’t going to be the Principal. So they made him a supervisor.

So every Friday, he would read all of the posters [that the Rabbanit Berland had put up]. I used to make the posters, and he used to read them to me. The Rabbanit used to cry until candlelighting time.

She was a girl of 17, that’s all, just a girl of 17.

==

I used to do the sponga (floor mopping), and he used to read me the posters.

So in the beginning, she was in Ahisamach. Now, it’s already a chareidi neighborhood. She was the first chareidi, all the school there now is chareidim.

It was a girls’ school, but everyone used to be chilonim.

==

Every girl needs to be the Principal of a seminary, to know English.

Now, she can learn, she needs to take a friend who knows English, and to read ‘how to read’ books together in English, with a friend who knows English. To master the language, to be a Principal.

It’s impossible to be a Principal without knowing English, today.

A seminary will be opened in Zikim, a seminary will be opened in Be’eri, a seminary in Nir Yitzhak, in Nirim, Nir Oz – in all the places where they kidnapped girls from there, seminaries will be opened.

They won’t kidnap girls, [and then] there will be no opportunity to assault them, they won’t need to assault them.

==

The men there [who were kidnapped], they are torturing them, with white-hot needles.

White-hot needles [are being used] there, to torture all the soldiers, to torture them.
And the whole world is with them.

Biden was with them. America sent millions of dollars to the Left – millions of dollars! To ‘Quality Government’, ‘Breaking the Silence’. Now, they are making a new organisation, Sollelim Derech (lit: paving a new way’) – this is also Leftists.

Sollelim Derech – they are changing the names, because they see that the truth is already being revealed, their fraud – everything is going.

==

Now, they gave four billion to the chareidim.

So now, everyone is going crazy.

But if the Left go with the Arabs [to create a new government], they will give them 54 billion. And this doesn’t bother them. 54 billion is ‘not even money’. It’s just a few grushim (coppers).

How much is 54 billion?

It’s 54, with nine zeros. Who needs these zeros?

==

So, when they were with the Arabs [in government], with Lapid and Gantz, then they gave them 54 billion.

But when they give the chareidim four billion – now, so whole the world is at Kaplan! ‘Bizeh!!!’ (the word also means ‘loot / plunder’, and also shame / disgrace) – I hear this each morning. Bizeh!!! Shod!!! (robbery). Shoddedim!!! (bandits).

But to the Arabs – they gave 54 billion.

==

Now, if another party arises (i.e. a new political coalition) with the Arabs, they will give them 100 billion.

Today, they already want 100 billion.
And this goes to the Hamas.
This – everything is lies within lies within lies within lies!

==

Now, they changed the names because their lies are already being revealed.

Now, Trump is charging all of the treasury officials, who passed money to Hamas, to the whole Left, that they should go out and demonstrate.

Each one recieves 50 shekels, 100 shekels, 200 shekels – go to Kaplan!

Why are you going to Kaplan?

What, you’re going to Shuvu Banim?! Crazy!! Go to Kaplan!!

You’ll get 100 shekels for each demonstrations.

All of this is coming from America.

FOOTNOTE:

This is the website for ‘Sollelim Derech’ – I’d never heard of it before the Rav mentioned it above:

https://www.solelim-derech.co.il/category/english/

So it seems to me, as I read 2 seconds of headlines.

Or to put it another way, the Erev Rav leaders are now turning their guns on each other – and all sorts of interesting information about just how corrupt they all are, left-right, secular-religious, army-political – it’s all just starting to pour out in a flood.

And I don’t think they’ll be able to put the geni back into the bottle once this really gets going.

====

The Rav said the last time they put him in prison, just a week before ‘Covid’ officially began here in Israel, that he wouldn’t be coming out of prison until the State was auto-destructing.

It’s taken a little longer than I thought, but that seems to be where we are now holding.

In the meantime, while the ‘wolves’ fight it out, the sheep should just keep out of this, totally, and get on with cleaning for Pesach…..

The chaos and ‘conflicting’ information is probably going to escalate from here.

And, I’m also noticing that same pattern starting to emerge abroad too, as the various groups of Evils also jockey for control.

====

Let’s see what happens next.

But in the meantime, I am sticking to my own dalet amot, and my own routine of translating the Rav’s stuff, and investigating ‘real Jewish history’.

Because no-one can take a ‘wolf’ down better than another ‘wolf’.

So, let’s just stand back, and watch that happen.

My friend mentioned how much this prayer is helping her deal with ‘Pesach overwhelm’ this year.

I didn’t even start cleaning yet….

(Hope that makes you feel better!)

Here is the translation in English (kudos to the husband, and thanks to the friend):

==

PRAYER BEFORE CLEANING THE HOUSE FROM CHAMETZ

Cleaning the house purifies a person completely

Master of the World, who can do anything, and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me the merit to clan and to purify my heart at the time of cleaning from chametz.

Please Hashem, grant me that at the time I clean the house from chametz to clean and to purify my heart from all types of waste matter of chametz which still exist in my heart.

And may I come out from all types of waste matter of p’gam habrit (blemishing the covenant) until I am completely purified.

Please Hashem, grant me at the time of cleaning the house from chametz to purify and refine my heart, from all types of waste matter of impurity and chametz and p’gam habrit.

And may I merit at the time of cleaning the house from chametz to hear anew all of the Ten Commandments, just like at the Giving of the Torah, and fulfil in me the verse, “I will wash my hands with cleanliness and I will surround the altar of Hashem”. And fulfil in me the verse, “and you said a Pesach offering to Hashem”.

And may I always wash my hands, and have the intention at the time of washing to purify the ‘upper hands’, the place where there is chessed and gevurah of Adam Kadmon.

And, at the time of cleaning the house from chametz, may I purify all of the upper 248 limbs and 365 sinews of Adam Kadmon, and may I merit at the time that I purify the house to have the intention to purify the ‘house above’, which is the root of the Cherubs, who are the purpose of heaven and earth, the purpose of the Beit HaMikdash above.

And, through washing the hands with water, one draws down the upper waters of chessed, from the right hand of Adam Kadmon, from where all the chessed of all of the year is drawn, to each thing, to each and every person, to each and every man and woman, and to each and every boy and girl.

Continuing the recent comments from the Rav….

We just finished with the reprise of the Get of Cleves, where the Nodah B’Yehudah argued against R’ Avraham Abba Abish of Frankfurt that the get was still a kosher get.

Now, the Rav continues:

====

But the get of Galuna, this was the opposite story.

The Nodah B’Yehudah nullified the get, because they threw the get at her. They threw it at her! And she didn’t want to accept the get, she was a little bit ‘modern’. Because maybe, she raised her sleeves a millimeter, because once upon a time, they used to walk around like that.

(The Rav indicates that in the old days, they used to have the sleeve covering the hand itself.)

If you went around like that (i.e. with your hands uncovered), so like that, you’d get a get. Back then, that’s how it was.

==

The Nodah B’Yehudah nullified the get….

This was already maybe six years after the get, he [the man who gave the get against his wife’s will] already had six children. The groom who gave the get was the nephew of R’Yitzhak Hamburger – of Yitzhak Horowitz.

And he [R Yitzhak Hamburger] told him according to the story he told him, she she had already raised her sleeves a little. It seems, that this suggested other things were going on [see the end of Masechet Gittin].

So he said to him: Throw the get at her.

She didn’t want to accept the get.

==

So the Nodah B’Yehudah nullified the get.[1]

This is responsa 75, 76, 77, 78, 79 in the Nodah B’Yehudah – each person needs to go over this, over all the responses. These [responses contain] all the SHAS, this is all the SHAS.

Why he nullified the get, why he said that whoever trespasses the cherem of Rabbenu Gershom, so the get is passul. We don’t poskim (rule) that way, we say that the get was still kosher. But he nullified the get.

He said, by way of this being the cherem of Rabbenu Gershom, that it’s forbidden to throw a get at a woman, this is the cherem!

[And so, the get was not a get.]

==

But all the cherem, this was just for a thousand years.

Just up until the year, the end of the five thousands. We are now in the sixth thousand [millenia of the Jewish calendar]. Today, this is just on the side of minhag, so this is just a minhag. So the cherem is already not in operation, today.

And even when there was the cherem, the get was still a get. Today, there is already no cherem, it’s already just on the side of being a minhag. It’s been cancelled according to all the poskim, it’s just on the side of minhag.

[All the rulings of Rabbenu Gershon], that it’s forbidden to take two wives, and that it’s forbidden to throw a get against [the wife’s] will.

[And so, there was nothing in this would enable a get to be nullfied, according to the laws d’oraita.]

==

In any case, each person needs to study all of these halachot, that are in the Nodah B’Yehudah.

There are 24 hours, it’s possible to go over everything. Even though Shuvu Banim aren’t accustomed to learning Nodah B’Yehudah.

And they aren’t accustomed to learning the parsha.

[1] There is a cherem of Rabbenu Gershon to not divorce a wife against her will.

====

If anyone knows where to download a copy of the NODAH B’YEHUDAH’s responsa, please do leave the link in the comments section.

I have a feeling that responsa 75-79 probably hold a lot of clues about the get of Galuna….

And a bunch of other things besides.

Following on from yesterday’s blog, a couple of things happened.

Thing one: I spoke to someone I’m close to in the US, whose baby got vaxxed for measles – and then developed measles a week later.

The baby had a rash and a fever, which the pediatrician dismissed as a ‘measles-type rash that you get after the measles vaccine, but it’s not measles’.

What happened next, is that two weeks later, this baby had a febrile convulsion and ended up in the ER.

Febrile convulsions are associated with both measles, AND, vaccines containing measles.

But the family’s pediatrician told the parents that their kid just had a bad reaction to the antibiotics they’ve been on for ages, to try to clear up an ear infection that isn’t going away.

====

The parents trust their pediatrician 100%.

They are sure, all this is connected to the moxycillin, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the measles shot.

Me?

I’m highly sceptical, put it that way, that the measles vax had nothing to do with the seizure.

And I was also shocked to see how easily all the evidence pointing to vaccine injuries just gets poo-poohed and shoved under some other carpet, time and time again.

====

In the meantime, have a look at these articles, on the Midwestern Doctor Substack, HERE:

The Unappreciated Benefits of Natural Light

The Evidence Putting Light Inside the Body Is A Miraculous Therapy

Both of these articles gave me a lot of food for thought, when I read them a few months back.

Since then, I’ve been making a lot more effort to spend some real, quality time in the sunshine – without sunscreen, without sunglasses, without glasses.

And I think it is one of the things that is helping me to feel healthier and more relaxed, as part of the bigger picture.

====

BH, Israel has no lack of sunshine.

If we would get off our phones more, and spend some time to follow Rabbenu’s advice of looking up at the sky every day…. I think it would do wonders for so many of us.

====

That’s sunlight, and now, here’s more light, of a spiritual type.

The artist Yehoshua Wiseman has just put out a new book of illustrated Psalms.

Here’s what he sent me:

After years of work and toil, I am grateful to Hashem, to announce the publishing of my new Book of Psalms. It is an incredible creation that brings new life to this precious book. There is a corresponding painting for each of the 150 chapters of Psalms.(284 pages)

The book is 18/25 cm (7/10 inches)

The book is for both English and Hebrew speakers. I know you will appreciate and grow from this book. The special introduction price is $55 (plus $30 for shipping outside of Israel-$10 inside Israel).

And here are some shots from the book:

====

Get in touch with him directly, if you want a copy, I’m just passing on the info and have no other connection or financial interest.

====

Last thing, I was thinking about the movie ‘Born on the Fourth of July’.

The film with Tom Cruise was based on the true story of Ron Kovic, who was paralysed in Vietnam, and then became an anti-war peace activist.

You can see an interview with him here, from 1977.

Listen to what he’s saying about how war is ‘romanticised’ in our culture, and the huge gap between what is portrayed about ‘war’ – and what it really means, on the personal level.

And then understand the real price of what is going on right now, for our poor soldiers.

May God protect them.

(Shmirat Eynayim friendly).

Someone just sent me this:

====

I usually ignore all this stuff, these days, especially from people who were jumping up and down thinking that Trump was the Messiah, or something.

But maybe…. these guys have figured out that Trump is just as much part of the ‘swamp’ as anyone else in politics you care to mention.

Anyhu, I decided to post this particular video up, as most of what it says is born out by my own experiences, of what helps to ‘detox’ from all the nano-particle crud being sprayed upon us, injected into us, and who knows what else.

==

Long story short, the liver needs all the help it can get, to get this stuff out of the system.

Even longer story short, what’s helpful is:

  • sunlight
  • sweating
  • water with lemon juice
  • MMS (I highly recommend this – thanks to ASD for catching the typo…)
  • grounding
  • talking to God in the sunlight, for an hour a day.

====

In energy medicine, the liver is associated with anger, and especially, anger at ourselves.

The more we beat ourselves up, the more ‘toxins’ flood our system, the more overwhelmed our bodies become with ucky stuff.

Anger is a very hard middot to overcome.

But, I can tell you from first-hand experience, that reading the Rav’s prayers on ‘Overcoming Anger’ work like magic, to start getting the anger ‘detoxed’ out of the system, spiritually.

====

When I was in Uman last week, the weather was gorgeous.

On Shabbat, I sat out on the balcony, talking to God, in the sunshine – and I had the clear idea pop in to my head that doing that was very, very helpful, for a lot of reasons.

I just felt so relaxed and happy – and so did my husband, when he copied me and came outside a little later on.

We came home with the firm idea that spending time in the sun, especially doing hitbodedut, is just about the best thing anyone can be doing with themselves, right now.

==

(On that note, I stopped using sunscreen around 15 years ago, and I have never looked back. As long as I’m not ‘sunbathing’ at midday, for hours, in July, I’ve had absolutely no problems with getting burnt, BH. I have come to the conclusion that sunscreen is another big con.

Oh, and something else I learnt a few months back is that sunlight doesn’t penetrate glass – or glasses / contact lenses. The eye needs to be ‘naked’ to absorb the light, and when the eyes absorb sunlight, that’s one way the blood in the body becomes more purified.

So now, I walk along the street as much as I can with my glasses off – it’s great for my eyes, I feel more relaxed, it’s purifying my blood – AND, I’m doing shmirat eynayim. Trebles all round.)

==

Point is, much of what they are saying in this video resonates with me, personally.

And also, being offline as much as possible is really, really useful, for so many reasons.

You can read the transcript, it’s faster than watching the video by about 5000%.

Enjoy!

The Rav has been talking a lot about the Get of Cleves again.

I did a deep-dive on that a few weeks ago – and we learned a lot of real Jewish history, as a result.

But, it seems there are more ‘sparks’ to pick up, so I am translating more of the recent comments from the Rav, where he’s stressing everyone needs to learn about the ‘Get of Cleves’ and to study it – and if you have more information or ideas to share about it, feel free!

In the meantime, here’s the first bit of the recent translations:

====

Shiur given over in the olam, Thursday night, Parshat Ki Tisa 5785, 13th Adar, Ta’anit Esther.

(The Rav has been talking about learning the Ketzot HaHoshen, and the SHACH, and the Shulchan Aruch.

It’s also permitted to learn the Nodah B’Yehuda.

It’s also permitted for Shuvu Banim to learn, about the whole matter of the get, because there were two gets.

One get, he [i.e. the Nodah B’Yehuda] was against, one get he was in favor of. The Get from Cleves, he was in favor of. The get of Galuna, he was against.

All of this, we need to know. Like we learn Ketzot HaHoshen, we need to learn the Nodah B’Yehuda, to know about the two gets, what happened with the get of Galuna, and what happened with the get of Cleves.

==

The Get of Cleves – the get was written by the grandfather of the ‘Tiferet Yisrael’, Rabbi Yisrael Lipshitz.

He was called ‘Lipshitz’, he was the grandfather of the Tiferet Yisrael. R. Abish Avraham Abba, he was called ‘R’ Abish’, he was the Rav of Frankfurt [he possulled the Get of Cleves].  The father of the groom, he was a chassid of Avraham Abba, of R’ Abish, Avraham Abba Frankfurter. He was his chassid.

He [the groom re: the Get of Cleves] was called Yitzhak ben Eliezer, and she was called Leah Niehuiz. She was Leah Niehuiz.[1] One was from Mannheim and and one was from Metz, the chatuna was in Metz.

==

And they came from Mannheim, and on Shabbat [the Shabbat Chatan], he suddenly disappeared.

He went to do hitbodedut, he was a Breslover, he went to do hitbodedut. Every person needs to know the story – ‘the Get of Cleves’. And they found him on Sunday, they went to look for him, they found him by some goy, in some village.

He simply ran away with the money.

So, they said, then, it appears he was insane. Why was he ‘insane’? Whoever runs away with the money is not crazy. A person knows how to steal, true, that he transgresses the commandment ‘do not steal’[2], but for this [they say he’s insane]?!

So, they went to Rav Abish of Frankfurt, and they said, h’es not normal, he stole money, he ran away from the house, this was shabbat [of] sheva brachot!

==

So, he revealed this, Shimshon Copenhagen.

‘Copenhagen’ was his family [name], that he was from Copenhagen – the capital of Denmark.

So, the groom [from the Get of Cleves] revealed the whole, true story to him, that he was now enroute to London, and that she would be an aguna for the rest of her life, if they didn’t go to Cleves know [to arrange the get].

This [the meeting with Shimshon Copenhagen and the writing of the get] was in the city of Cleves on the Rhine, enroute to London. Because they were on the way to Mannheim, and the wedding was in Metz.

So, on the way to Mannheim they were passing Cleves. And so he said to Rabbi Shimshon Copenhagen: I’m prepared to give a get now. And if not – she won’t see me ever again. I am going to London.

And he became one of the very biggest askanim (communal ‘fixers’).

So, it’s impossible to say that he wasn’t ‘normal’. He was the most sane person in the world. He also stole all the money from the dowry, and he also ran away.

==

He explained that by the goyim, it’s not like how it is by the Jews, by the zionists, that you can do all the transgressions in the world, and be called a ‘modern man’. A ‘liberal’ man, a person with freedom of expression, a ‘free thinker’.

They call this ‘pluralism’.

By the non-Jews, it’s not like this. If you do a transgression – they hang you. There are no excuses.

==

So, he told him [to Shimshon Copenhagen] that he’d done some transgression, Hashem should have mercy, and they were going to hang him. If he didn’t run away now, from that whole area, so they would hang him. This was pikuach nefesh (saving a life), and he had to leave here.

Tov. So they went to Rav Yisrael Lipshitz [who was the Rav in Cleves], they told him the whole, true story, immediately, he wrote the get.

==

So, when the parents of the groom heard about this, they had such a shock.

She was 16, altogether, and he was already 20, for sure, he was 20, and she was 16. And the parents went immediately [to their rabbi, R Abish Frankfurter]. He straight away wrote a letter to Yisrael Lipshitz, that he was possulling (nullifying) the get [on the grounds that the groom was insane].

The Rav Yisrael Lipshits wrote back, no, I saw that he was totally normal. That he examined him.

In the end, he [i.e. the groom of the Get of Cleves} built a synagogue in the name of Yitzhak Hamburger. He built a synagogue in London, there, he married [again] afterwards.

==

In any case, this was called the ‘Get of Cleves’.

And the Nodah B’Yehuda permitted the get, and R’ Abish Avraham Abba nullified the get. After a year [R Abish] died, in 5629, he passed away.

The get was in 5627. There was the marriage in Elul, on the 11th of Elul, and on that shabbat it was the 14th of Elul. On the 17th of Elul, they’d already written the get, and a year after this R’ Abish – who nullified the get – died.

And it was a kosher get.

Today, we already know that this was a kosher get, but then, they didn’t know. Back then, they didn’t know who was right, if it was R Avraham Abba of Frankfurt [or the Nodah B’Yehuda].

And the Nodah B’Yehuda wrote to him, around four letters, maybe six letters.

But the gabbaim (of R Abish Frankfurter) didn’t pass the letters on, because the Nodah B’Yehuda proved to him that the get was indeed a get. If Avraham Abba would have admitted that he’d erred – that is to say, that after he’d said that the get wasn’t a get, he would say that the get was indeed a get – so then this would be told to the King of Denmark.

The King of Denmark was responsible for the whole place, so the king would have got rid of him, because all of the rabbinut was only with the permission of the king.

If the king heard that someone made a mistake, then he would get rid of him, just for making one mistake. So it was impossible to say this.

The gabbaim didn’t want for him to know that he’d made a mistake, they hid the letters that the Nodah B’Yehuda wrote to him, that the get was a get.

This is the story, of the Get of Cleves.
